Let’s rethink breakfast!
Even if you’re not an eggs fan, there are definitely higher quality, lower sugar ways to start breakfast that don’t involve processed muffins, cereals or fruit juices. Some other options include:
▶️ high quality protein shake ▶️ oatmeal with fruit (could add some protein too) ▶️ homemade chia pudding 😋 ▶️ Greek yogurt with whole fruit . Here’s the thing with eating a muffins & orange juice for breakfast. Even thought these items are quick & delicious, an average muffin is packing more than 400 calories and a mind-melting 40 grams of sugar in one serving and on top of that, the small orange juice 11.5 oz has 35 g of sugar. So thats already 75g of sugar & you haven't even started your day. This type of breakfast will leave you tired in hungry in about an hour of consuming it.
Why not try a different kind of breakfast. The breakfast on the left has 1 onion, 1 sweet potato, some carrots & cauliflower. So many veggies mixed with 2 sunny side up eggs will keep you full until lunch time! You will feel energized & satisfied.
.
Left side:
11.5 oz orange juice
1 large blueberry muffin . Right side: 2 sunny side up eggs 1 onion
1 sweet potato
1/2 cup of shaved carrots 1/2 cup of riced cauliflower . Usually I also like to pair my breakfast with some avocado if you want it to be a bit more filling. A sprouted bread like Ezekiel toast is not a bad option to add since it’s minimally processed and no added sugar. . Hope you found this helpful! Xoxo, Masha
