Tracking Calories to Lose Weight

So here is the deal! I don't always track my calories but when I feel that weight creeping back up, I always go to this amazing tool to help me get back on track. Tracking your calories allows you to:⠀ - know exactly how much food to eat to lose weight⠀ - know exactly how much food you ARE eating⠀ - know how your body reacts to certain foods⠀ - know what changes to make if you're not losing weight⠀ - be able to eventually eat intuitively and lose weight (or keep the weight off) without thinking too much about it⠀ The ONLY way to lose weight is to eat on a calorie deficit. Therefore it makes sense to know exactly how much you're eating, and how much you need to eat, if you want to lose weight predictably and without having to worry about it.⠀ You see, tracking calories is like learning a musical instrument. When you first start playing piano, it’s hard, confusing and it feels like you’ll never get it. You have to learn how to read the music, learn how each key sounds and then learn where to place your fingers at what time.⠀ It’s a complex learning process.⠀ But after a while, you start to pick it up. You can easily play each key, read the music and it even starts to sound pretty good! You are really enjoying it too.⠀ Eventually, with practice, playing the piano is almost effortless and you can even sit down and play without a sheet of music in front of you. The practice paid off.⠀ Same goes with tracking your food!⠀ The end goal is to learn more about yourself, your body and your eating habits so that in the future you can eat without having to think about it. The end goal is intuitive eating, so you eat appropriately without needing to track your food any more.⠀

I use MyFitness Pal to track my calories when I am trying to drop a few pounds. Its super user friendly & can help you drop those unwanted pounds really quickly.
